The 95th Oscars took place and the winners were announced. The big winner of the evening was “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. The production won seven Oscars! Who else got an Oscar? We present the full list of winners.

The 95th Oscars ceremony was supposed to be perfect. This year’s edition of the gala was supposed to erase from people’s memory once and for all the incident from last year, when Will Smith entered the Oscars stage and slapped Chris Rock for a joke about his wife. In our opinion, the assumption has been fulfilled. The Academy’s decisions overshadowed the rest.

The big favorite of the evening was the film by The Daniels duo “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, which competed for an Oscar in 11 categories. The second biggest contender for the award was the Elvis Presley biopic “Elvis”, which seemed a surefire winner in the “Best Costumes” and “Best Actor” categories. To the surprise of many, “Elvis” did not win a single statuette. The big winner of the evening was “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. This niche, low-budget and avant-garde picture won in seven of the 11 categories it was nominated for. It’s interesting because 3/4 of the cast are Asian. So it can be said that this year’s Oscars were a triumph for Asians and their official welcome to Hollywood as full-fledged actors. Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian to win in the category “Best Actress in a Leading Role”. Ke Huy Quan won his first Oscar ever after he was absent for 30 years due to the rejection of his Asian appearance by the filmmakers.

The triumph of the Asians was not the only “exotic” choice of the Academy. This year, in the “Best Original Song” category, the winner was the song Naatu Naatu, which is the first song from Indian productions to receive a nomination and a statuette.
