Cher, the legendary pop star, has just set an extraordinary record. She became the first woman in the history of music to achieve this in the last 7 consecutive decades.
Cher became the first woman in music history to top the charts for seven consecutive decades. Cher has now reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts with “DJ Play a Christmas Song.” Before this, Cher’s last song to reach the top of the chart was “Woman’s World” from 2013.
Cher’s first No. 1 hit was in 1965 with “I Got You Babe.” Now reaching the top with “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” Cher joined The Rolling Stones, who were the only band to do what she had done and have had at least one chart-topping hit in each of the last seven decades.
