Manchester United have postponed the return date of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho until later in July to give the five players time to consider possible transfers.

Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are among five Manchester United players who have been given extra leave to explore possible transfers after expressing a desire to leave the club.

Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia – who along with Rashford were on loan last season – are also part of the group that will not report back to Carrington on Monday along with the rest of the squad.

Matheus Cunha is said to be in breach of Rashford’s number 10 shirt. Rashford expressed a desire for a “new challenge” before joining Aston Villa on loan last season.

Sky Sports News reports that both Rashford and Sancho have been told clearly that they are not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans, and both want to explore opportunities elsewhere.

If players are unable to find a solution during this time, they will return to Carrington, where they will continue to have full access to medical and fitness support.

There have been no official bids for Rashford, who is still hoping for a move to Barcelona. Any potential transfer for the 27-year-old could come later in the transfer window after he returns from his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Rashford wants Champions League – but not London

Previous reports from Sky Sports News indicate that Rashford wants to play Champions League football next season, but is not willing to move to London. His representatives are also opposed to him getting involved in a swap.

Sancho close to Juventus deal

Juventus are in ongoing talks with United about a signing of Sancho. Discussions are also ongoing with the player’s representatives about personal terms.

United’s sale price is expected to be £25 million for Sancho, after Chelsea paid £5 million to get out of their commitment to make the loan deal permanent this summer.

Antony wants return to Real Betis

Real Betis want to bring Antony back after his successful loan spell last season, but will struggle to match United’s sale price.

Antony stated that he “hit rock bottom” during his time at Manchester United and became very emotional when he was recalled to the Brazilian national team after good performances for Betis.

Como has also shown interest in Antony, but it is understood that the player would prefer a return to Betis. Bayer Leverkusen, now managed by Erik ten Hag, have also shown interest in the winger.

No bid on Garnacho

United have yet to receive any bids for Garnacho, who has been on Chelsea’s radar.

The striker questioned his future after being used as a substitute in the Europa League final and was therefore not named in the squad for the final game of the season against Aston Villa.

Malacia back from loan

Malacia spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven after recovering from a long-term knee injury.

United prepares new bid for Mbeumo

Manchester United are expected to make an improved bid for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo.

Internal discussions are ongoing at the club regarding their next step in the pursuit of the 25-year-old, who effectively has two years left on his contract.

There is a feeling that United’s latest offer – worth £55 million originally, with the possibility of £62.5 million of bonuses – is not far off Brentford’s wishes. However, the payment structure will be crucial.

Brentford want at least £65 million, with most (if not all) to be guaranteed.

Mbeumo only wants to join United, and Brentford’s sporting director Phil Giles has said that the Cameroonian international is willing to stay if a deal is not agreed.

United are also considering new striker

While the focus is primarily on Mbeumo and potential player sales, United are still exploring the possibility of signing a new striker.

It is understood that Juventus mentioned the sale of Dušan Vlahović during talks about Sancho.

Juventus are desperate to sell Vlahović – he has high salary commitments and only has one year left on his contract.

Juve are still interested in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who was on loan at Galatasaray last season.

Vlahović is one of several strikers United have been watching, and they are also following Ollie Watkins’ situation at Aston Villa closely.

United rate Watkins

Manchester United are “exploring the terms of a deal” for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, with head coach Ruben Amorim looking to “revive” the attack.
