Four years after we said goodbye to the Shelby clan in the series finale of Peaky Blinders, Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his gang of Birmingham mobsters return to Netflix in a new feature film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. Written by series creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper (Wild Rose, Heart of Stone), The Immortal Man follows the Shelby family into a new era.

“It looks like Tommy Shelby wasn’t done with me,” Murphy told Netflix. “It’s very gratifying to re-collaborate with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the tabs.”

The film’s release date

The highly anticipated feature film is set to release in theaters in select theaters on March 6, 2026. Netflix will then launch the film globally on the platform from March 20.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

As a sequel to the iconic TV series, the new feature film continues the story as the Shelby clan enters a new era.

Set in Birmingham, of course, the year is 1940, and as World War II unfolds, Tommy Shelby is ‘driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive showdown to date’.

“The country is at war, and of course so are our Peaky Blinders,” Knight told Netflix. “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Nothing is held back. Full Peaky Blinders at War.”

Tommy must make a decision in The Immortal Man: will he choose to confront his legacy or ‘burn it to the ground’.
