Let’s be clear, there is nothing more serious than the illegal exploitation of ponytails! “This is something Norwegian should take into account, especially at a time when we are all concerned with Viking-Rowing rather than flying.

After this summer’s World Cup, Erling Braut Haaland has gone to the basement and cut his angelic hair so as not to remember Norwegian’s marketing campaign. The football hero who earns NOK 9 million a week and officially has the status of a billionaire is taking Norwegian to court!

The lawsuit is of course unrelated to the fact that Erling Haaland’s club, Manchester City, has the airline Etihad as its main sponsor.

Kristoffer Ajer says Erling Haaland is exactly the same

Erling Braut Haaland has filed a lawsuit against Norwegian Air Shuttle. The background is a marketing post where the airline used his characteristic ponytail on a plane.

Haaland and his company York Promotions Ltd. filed the lawsuit against Norwegian this week. This is confirmed by lawyer Thomas Hagen to VG and NRK.

“The case concerns Norwegian’s unlawful exploitation of Haaland’s trademarks in its marketing of airline tickets during the football World Cup,” says Hagen.

The background is a post Norwegian published on Instagram during this summer’s World Cup. There, the airline had edited Haaland’s blonde ponytail into one of its planes, with the text “We’ve never looked more Norwegian”. The post was later deleted.

Norwegian says it does not understand the lawsuit.

“We, like almost all of Norway, have been cheering on the national team this summer through a few spontaneous posts based on trends in social media,” says press officer Eivind Hammer Myhre.

“It’s a shame that the cheers have been met with lawsuits, but we hope for a sensible dialogue,” he adds.

The case will be heard for a planning meeting in Oslo District Court on 9 October. According to the court’s overview, the lawsuit concerns violation of the Marketing Act.

Haaland was one of the World Cup’s hottest players with seven goals when Norway reached the quarter-finals and fell to England.
