The last time we saw the tall duo, Godzilla was lurking in the Coliseum while Kong showed off a great new glove – the series is as crazy as it sounds, but seeing a giant monkey and a lizard meet in battle is always a delight for fans. With that in mind, news is now starting to emerge about which human faces will next stare up at the big monsters.
The most notable newcomer to the cast is arguably New Zealand actor Sam Neill, who is known from Jurassic Park – where Godzilla makes Jurassic Park’sT-rex look like a small gecko.
Also on the team this time around are Kaitlyn Dever, who currently stars in The Last of Us, as well as Jack O’Connell (Back to Black/Unbroken). Dan Stevens’ character, who was first introduced as a veterinarian to kaiju in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, also returns in the sequel.
The next film will be the seventh in the series, which also includes the Apple TV+ series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The currently untitled film will be directed by Grant Sputore, who previously directed the Netflix film I Am Mother.
The MonsterVerse series from Legendary shows no signs of slowing down – it has so far grossed $2.5 billion worldwide, and its popularity only continues to grow.
The next film in the series is expected to premiere in 2027. But it has not yet been revealed which 32-meter-tall actor will crawl into the furry Godzilla suit this time…
