Convinced former Manchester United player Hojlund is a “Harry Kane striker”

Six months into Rasmus Hojlund’s job as a striker at one of the world’s biggest clubs, after having had a handful of games at the top level of Serie A, striker legend Alan Shearer felt downright sorry for the young Dane. Shearer knows the game as a Premier League striker better than anyone, he thought it was unfair that a twenty-year-old should be signed with the main responsibility at the top. In the Premier League, as a youngster, you need to have a striker who has cracked all the codes in front of him in the team. After two seasons, the Dane was weighed too lightly.

Rasmus Hojlund was a happy boy in the Manchester United shirt, but never took, or never got, the role he was bought for in 2023. At Napoli, things changed for the Dane, at Antonio Conte, the striker developed and delivered 16 goals in 44 games. New Napoli coach Allegri believes the Dane deserves to be compared to the greatest of them all.

“Hojlund has great development potential, that’s for sure,” Allegri begins to Italian Sky Sports.

Then it comes:

“In terms of his qualities, I think he’s very similar to Harry Kane. They’re both strong players who can break loose, who have physicality and know how to handle physical duels with defenders,” Allegri boasts.

Very similar to Harry Kane.

We hope young Rasmus got this one, but it is rather doubtful that the Manchester United supporters are left with the feeling that they gave a thumbs down for a “Harry Kane striker”.
