The well-known British musician and comedian Bill Bailey is booked for the comedy program during Tons of Rock at Ekebergsletta in Oslo.
Bailey was on stage during “The Last Night of the Proms” at the Royal Albert Hall in 2025. There he performed Leroy Anderson’s work “The Typewriter” – on a typewriter – to wild applause.

Highlights of Bill Bailey’s career
Bill Bailey is one of Britain’s most popular comedians and musicians. He became seriously known through his performances in the cult series Black Books and Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and has for a number of years filled the largest concert halls in his home country with his unique mix of stand-up, satire and virtuoso musical talent. He has released a number of critically acclaimed shows, such as Bewilderness, Tinselworm , and Larks in Transit, and received several awards for his work. With his distinctive comic expression and an extraordinary musical breadth – from classical piano to heavy metal on harmonica – Bailey has created a genre of his own and cemented his position as one of the most original artists in British entertainment history.
A number of Norwegian comedians will also be on stage during the rock festival. Among them are Nora Svenningsen, Martin Beyer-Olsen and Javad Al-Bakali, who will entertain the festival audience.
Tons of Rock writes in connection with the expansion of the humor initiative
Norway’s largest music festival, Tons of Rock, is expanding its offer and lifting the humor initiative to new heights in 2026.
” We always aim to develop the festival experience and expand the universe – this year with our most ambitious comedy program ever. Standup at Tons has been a popular addition to our festival activity and that we get the country’s foremost comedians and the international legend Bill Bailey on the poster, is absolutely fantastic, says festival director Jarle Kvåle.
In recent years, the comedy stage Storm Stage has developed into an audience favorite, and this year the effort is doubled. The audience can look forward to several comedy shows throughout the festival, with fun breaks between concerts.
” We want to offer more than just music. Tons of Rock should be a holistic experience, and humor is an important part of this. The response from the audience has been overwhelming, which is why we are now investing bigger than ever,” Kvåle continues.
This year’s comedy program offers a strong mix of established names and new favorites from both home and abroad. In addition to Bill Bailey, known for combining musical virtuosity with award-winning humor, profiles such as Dag Sørås and Espen Abrahamsen with the podcast Mørk Medisin, Nora Svenningsen, Javad El Bakali, Martin Beyer-Olsen, Cécile Moroni, Sarah Løvald and Paul Myrehaug are on stage.
