Ipswich Town supporters have voiced their displeasure online after Reform UK manager Nigel Farage conducted a photo shoot at the club’s stadium.

Farage appeared at an event in Suffolk on Monday to launch the party’s local election campaign in the region.

But the Clacton MP also visited Portman Road, the home ground of Championship club Ipswich, where he took pictures both on the sidelines and in the club’s dressing room.

Farage shared the photos on social media, with the caption: “I’ve never been too bad on the right.”

Along with the photos, Farage posted a new video in which he thanked the club for a “wonderful welcome.”

Farage said: “It’s a big end to the season for Ipswich, they are really in the race to get back to the Premier League.

“Let’s hope they do, but if they don’t, I think there’s a chance here – I’ve had a chat with a few people about the managerial job that will be available for next season and I’m definitely on the shortlist.

“The problem is that there’s only one job I’m really looking for.”

Reports from the Press Association suggest that Portman Road Events, which handles private tours of the stadium, accepted a booking on behalf of Reform, but the full extent of the visit was not disclosed.

The club, which has yet to comment publicly on the matter, has reportedly not sent out an official invitation to Farage.

Ipswich Town were reportedly unaware of Farage’s planned visit
Despite this, the club’s supporters have been quick to criticize the access Farage received. One supporter called it “PR suicide for a family club”.

Another added, “No matter where you stand politically, it’s utter idiocy to let some politicians use the club to create attention.”

A third condemned the photo shoot as “shameful” and added: “How did you allow this to happen? We used to sing that Ipswich lives in racial harmony back in the 70s and 80s when the NF [National Front] ran and recruited members in other clubs.”

Ipswich are currently third in the Championship under Kieran McKenna, two points clear of direct promotion.

For those who don’t know Nigel Farage, he is the asshole who got England out of the EU, who hates everyone who doesn’t think the same as him, who loves Donald Trump and who lies almost as much. His Ipswich Town visit damages the club’s reputation, more than being relegated from the Premier League.
