Gary Neville is the highest-paid football expert on the ball island, the Englishman makes weekly headlines in the international media when he lashes out at underperforming Premier League stars – or how catastrophically weak Manchester United have become since he himself wore the red shirt. At Anfield on Sunday, City supporters heard the anger of Liverpool supporters – before they themselves took over with “sing-alongs” and cheers after three quick City goals in the second half. Gary Neville believes it will all be a pointless circus in the upcoming games where City are involved.
United legend Gary Neville has told Sky Sports that he does not want to comment on Manchester City’s games in the near future.
“This is the first Manchester City game I’ve covered since the verdict was announced a few weeks ago. We just recorded the podcast (The Gary Neville Podcast) and there I said if they could take care of Manchester City’s games in the coming months until a verdict is made, I would be very happy,” Gary Neville said.
“To come to Anfield and win is very difficult and we should be able to pay tribute to them without a ‘but’ or any kind of hesitation. But there is still something rumbling in the back of my mind. When the game is over, it is quite difficult, because you imagine that if the verdict is upheld, Manchester City will not be in the position they are in now, and there will be a big dark cloud hanging over the whole league,” Neville said.
