Paramount+ has renewed its popular series, MobLand, for a second season. The crime drama, which has become the second most-watched original series on the platform, has attracted over 26 million viewers so far – no matter how you look at it, the series has been a huge success.

Further details about the plot, cast, or production timeline for the upcoming season are still unknown, as the second season has just been announced.

However, it will be interesting to see who returns from the impressive cast from the first season.

Produced by Guy Ritchie, the man behind British gangster classics such as Snatch and The Gentlemen, MobLand marks his first series for the increasingly popular streaming service.

The series was created and written by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy, The Day of the Jackal) and co-writer Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Spectre), who is also a co-producer.

The first season featured a cast full of big names, including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren – actors not traditionally associated with television – along with Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson and more. The series follows two rival mafia families whose conflict threatens to destabilize everything, with the threat of a gang war looming over them all.

The global crime series premiered on Sunday, March 30, exclusively on Paramount+ in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia, followed by an international release on May 30. Now all that’s left is to wait to find out more – including what happens next.
