Few young players have received as much praise from Pep Guardiola as Oscar Bobb. Last season, the stage was set for Bobb’s big breakthrough at City, the pre-season promised well – then it narrowed down with a broken leg. The season disappeared, the road back to playing time with Guardiola has been tortuous. Now important change is on the way, this week comes the “green light” for the 22-year-old.
Already far too tight in Pep Guardiola’s playing time, City are “these days” in the process of bringing in the Premier League’s hottest right winger Semenyo for £65 million. Then Bobb only has one option. Now the exit door to playing time opens for the Norwegian international player.
Transfer journalist Romano reported earlier this year that Bobb will get the green light from the City management to take a loan stay when Antoine Semenyo walks through the gates of the Etiad for signing. Now it is reported that the Bournemouth star, who finished as a match-winner against Tottenham on Wednesday, is in Manchester today for a medical test and signing.
For Bobb, this means “green light”.
The Norwegian winger has a bunch of clubs on his doorstep, but according to Romano, Borussia Dortmund are the clear favorite to sign Bobb for the rest of the season.
We are happy to have a round with Bobb in front of the Swartzgelben supporters’ wall in Dortmund, against clubs such as Bayern, Leipzig, Leverkusen, Stuttgart and Eintracht plus the Champions League as a World Cup run-up.
