Nothing to think about – “United should sell Bruno Fernandes on the spot”

Last summer, Bruno Fernandes demanded a chat with new United boss Ratcliff about the plan going forward. What was presented is said to have convinced the captain to extend. One year later, the “untouchable” Fernandes is actually one of the first players who could be on his way out. An opportunity Manchester United must not waste, according to Paul Scholes.

Last week, Bruno Fernandes’ agent was spotted on tour in Saudi Arabia. Thus, the United captain opens the door for an exit from the Premier League and the UEFA region in favor of astronomical wage income. Now the agent is back in Europe, Fernandes has until Friday to make the decision whether he will say goodbye to Manchester United. For Paul Scholes, it’s obvious what United should do.

“They’re talking about £100 million for him. Manchester United can’t say no to that,” Scholes begins in The Overlap.

Scholes highlights the importance of Fernandes at United this season, but doesn’t quite see the Portuguese as the mainstay of Ruben Amorim’s system.

— When you also talk about the system, I know that he has been fantastic and carried the team on his shoulders, but where does he play? What is his position? Do you see him as a number ten? If you look at him as a sitting midfielder, he almost confuses the whole system, because he doesn’t have the one position for him,” says the United legend.

“Well, he’s been brilliant, don’t get me wrong, but when you get £100 million for him, then you say yes on the spot,” says Scholes.
