The focus of the Norwegian national team players is on the task at hand in the World Cup. An entire nation demands and expects this, but for some of the players, a process is also underway at home in Europe, where the agent is working to negotiate the best possible contract offer that awaits when the national team returns from the World Cup (we think it will be good, well out in July). Kristian Thorstvedt is one of these players.
David de Gea needs no introduction. The Spaniard guarded the Manchester United goal in 545 games, with 188 clean sheets. In the summer of 2023, Old Trafford came to an end, and a year later, the goalkeeping legend signed for Fiorentina. Here it started with an upturn and 6th place in Serie A, the last two seasons it has been bumpy for the proud club. NOW a Norwegian national team player is being brought in to increase production in front of the opponents’ goal.
This season, Fiorentina finished in a tenacious 16th place, now it will be rigged for climbing. According to transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Kristian Thorstvedt is wanted by Fiorentina.
The Florence club is coached by Fabio Grosso, the Italian who decided the 2006 World Cup final with the decisive penalty kick in the final against France in Berlin. He has good knowledge of Thorstvedt from the time they had together at Sassuolo, where Thorstvedt still plays, and is said to be a great admirer of Norway’s midfielder.
According to Di Marzio, Thorstvedt’s name is at the top of Fiorentina’s wish list of reinforcements in midfield ahead of next season.
