Oskar Øhlenschlæger (22) is leaving Fredrikstad for Turkish Samsunspor, who after two games this season are in third place in the top division. The transfer could bring FFK up to 3 million euros – and will be the club’s third major sale in one summer.

This is confirmed by Samsunspor in its own media channels. President, Mr. Yüksel Yıldırım is happy, “We believe that Oskar Øhlenschlæger who excels with his technical skills, offensive efficiency, game vision, combative character, and is open to development, will contribute significantly to our team.”
After the sale, Fredrikstad will be left with 10 million euros in player sales this summer.
Three big sales in one summer
It has been a hectic transition period on the lawn in Fredrikstad. First, 16-year-old Eirik Granaas was sold to Porto in a deal that could exceed 4.5 million euros. Rocco Shein (23) then travelled to Portsmouth for a total package of €3.5 million. Now, Øhlenschlæger is the third major profile to say goodbye.
Fredrikstad, which this year is on the safe Mediterranean Sea in the table, is selling away at a high pace. They go into the autumn with a full club coffers – but at the same time without several of their most important players.
The interest in Norwegian football is enormous these days, after the national team’s strong World Cup efforts and Bodø/Glimt’s journey in the Champions League. Experts from all over Europe travel to Norway to understand the success – and Fredrikstad earns well from the attention.
Why he chooses Turkey
Several Italian clubs have reportedly circled around the attacking midfielder throughout the summer, but now everything points towards Turkey. Samsunspor is looking for a replacement for Carlo Holse – a former Rosenborg player – who was recently sold to St. Louis City. Danish Øhlenschlæger is wanted as a direct replacement.
Øhlenschlæger came to the club from Vendsyssel in January 2025 and quickly became a crowd favorite. In 44 Eliteserien games, he has recorded nine goals and four assists – numbers that have attracted attention far beyond Norway’s borders.
The contract with Fredrikstad extends until 2028, which has given the club a solid negotiating position. Sports director Anders Jensen does not want to comment on the information for the time being.
Fredrikstad Blad reported earlier Friday that negotiations are ongoing. Fredrikstad himself confirmed the purchase of Bryan Fiabema on the same day – the Norwegian striker comes from Lech Poznan and has signed a contract until 2030.
