Bodø/Glimt have shown an incredible flair for finding often underrated players or talents, who are given a rocket development with Kjetil Knutsen football at Aspmyra. Especially Danish players have realized that it is in the Eliteserien at Glimt that opportunities are created. Now a former Bodø/Glimt player is on his way to a whole new league, with a new stage on an exotic football journey, to say the least.

It’s been a long time since Kasper Junker wore the Bodø/Glimt shirt, but when you hammer in 28 goals with 11 assists in 26 games, you leave an impression. Unfortunately, the exit from Aspmyra in 2021 was of the more chaotic variety, as the Danish player pushed for an exit and transfer to Urawa Red Diamonds. Now the 31-year-old is at a new crossroads.

After 62 games and 27 goals in the red Diamoinds shirt, there was a change of club at Junker. Obviously happy with life in the Kingdom of the Sun, it was on loan to Nagoya Grampus in 2023, so permanent transfer. Here, the former Bodø/Glimt player has played 85 games with 23 goals. Now it is reported that the 31-year-old is leaving Japan.

So what is the next natural step for a player who started in Denmark, went north to Stabæk for a rental, then Bodø/Glimt, got on the plane to Japan – and stayed there for five years? The answer is Buriram United.

According to Tipsbladet , Kasper Junker has agreed with Buriram United on a contract until the summer of 2027. The club is at the top of the table in Thailand’s top division. After nineteen games, the gap down to the next club is nine points, a Danish goal machine will ensure that the title is secured.

We wish Junker the best of luck on another football adventure (of the unusual kind).
