The regime in the United States continues to make the lives of Americans worse, this time it is the possibility of direct import without tariffs that they now have to pay on top of the cost of goods and shipping.
As of Saturday 23 August, it will no longer be possible to send postal items with a value of less than NOK 8000 to the United States, with certain exceptions.

This change comes as a result of new rules introduced by the Trump administration. On July 30, they removed the duty and tax exemption for all types of shipments with a value of less than USD 800, Posten Bring states in a press release.
Shipments with a value over $800 must be cleared through customs and can be shipped as normal. There is also an exception for private gift shipments under $100 – these can be sent without changes. The same applies to postal items that only contain documents.

Posten Bring states that European postal companies are now working together to clarify the situation and find solutions that meet the requirements of US customs authorities. As of now, a final clarification has not yet been reached in the matter.
