The board of Sogndal Fotball IL has decided to make its seats available and will convene an extraordinary annual meeting on September 22, the club informs.
At the annual meeting, a new board will be elected.
“The decision has been made with consideration for the club and a desire to facilitate the best possible way forward,” the board writes in a statement.
The board believes that a change should be carried out as quickly as possible, so that a new board has time to familiarize itself with the work and set the course ahead. The current board states that it will contribute to an orderly and good transition of responsibility.
The current board consists of Jan Rune Årøy, Trude Ramstad, Nina Olsen Munthe, Knut Armand Iversen, Øyvind Heimset Larsen and Tom Rune Kongelf.
In recent months, the club has been characterized by turmoil. This summer, it became known that several players had submitted messages of concern about head coach Luis Pimenta.

Sogndal Fotball has terminated the working relationship with head coach Luis Pimenta (44), as a result of the case where players have sent messages of concern about him.
Pimenta has been put on hold from the coaching job since June 26. Then the club chose to start a thorough investigation into the reports of concern against the Portuguese coach.
Eirik Bakke was brought in as a temporary replacement, and has led the team for over two months.
Now Sogndal informs that Pimenta’s employment has ended.
The club has previously explained that they received messages of concern from the players, related to allegations about Pimenta’s behavior.
– The reports are taken seriously and handled in accordance with the club’s established routines for reports of concern, working environment and internal control, Sogndal Fotball wrote at the end of June.
Subsequently, Pimenta’s leave was extended several times, as a result of the ongoing investigations.
