Over the weekend, the Chicago Fire fans had their real meeting with goal guarantor Lewandowski.
Philip Zinckernagel has a contract until 2028 with the Chicago Fire. The former Bodø/Glimt star has already played his way into the MLS from his debut season in 2025. This summer, the signing came that will give the Dane something to tell future grandchildren about. Not only is he playing against Lionel Messi, now he was also going to play with Robert Lewandowski. What was more natural than that the Dane was behind the assist for the striker icon’s first goal.

On Sunday night, the two offensive players were in action as the Chicago Fire took on Charlotte FC in MLS. Here, the visitors from Charlotte took an early lead when former FC Copenhagen player Pep Biel managed to kick the ball ice-cold into the near corner. Just two minutes later, Zinckernagel was in the role of facilitator.

On the edge of the sixteen-yard box, the Dane laid the ball out to Lewandowski, who after a touch kicked the ball flat into the near corner.
It was the 37-year-old Lewandowski’s first MLS goal.
68 minutes into the game, the Polish super striker was back on goal. After quick combinations, he broke free inside the sixteen-meter box and confidently sent the ball into the goal for the final score of 2-1. With the win, the Chicago Fire are fourth in the Eastern Conference, Lewandowski of course Man of the Match.
