Pierce Brosnan has not ruled out a return to the world of James Bond.

In an interview with GQ, the actor, who played 007 from 1995 to 2002, spoke out about the possibility of a return after the series moves to Amazon MGM Studios.

Pierce Brosnan may be open to considering returning to James Bond in another role.

When confronted with the possibility of playing a retired agent instead of the lead role, Pierce slyly said, “Sometimes you consider it, and sometimes you just move on.”

This Hollywood star, who starred in four Bond films – GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002) – seems to have an open mind when it comes to ‘Bond 26’.

During an interview with the Radio Times in August, Pierce admitted that he was tempted by the idea of collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Denis Villeneuve on Bond, given his role as director. “My wife Keely [Shaye Smith] and I have been listening to the drumbeat of expectations about who will be the next James Bond,” Pierce said. “There are a lot of great candidates out there, and I’m sure they’re going to make it a joyful spectacle.”

The Irish actor was largely credited with elevating the series to new heights, but Die Another Day (2002) became Pierce’s fourth and final film as 007.

The actor learned that he would no longer play Bond in 2004. Pierce Brosnan added that he has no regrets for his time as Bond.

He continued, “Bond is the gift that keeps on giving and has allowed me to have a wonderful career.”
