The Norwegian returns to the Eliteserien after a tough and not particularly rewarding stay in Spanish football for Real Valladolid. – Well, Vegard Erlien is back a few experiences richer.
Tromsø, who for a long time competed with Bodø/Glimt and Viking for Eliteserien gold, but after Bodø/Glimt stopped giving up points, while Tromsø does from time to time, they are now in 3rd place a full 9 points behind.

Vegard Erlien is back in Tromsø. After an unsuccessful stay in Spain, the 28-year-old is now returning home
Tromsø confirms the transfer in its own media channels. The contract extends over the next three years.
“We are happy to have Vegard back. He knows the club and our way of playing well, and he will be an important contributor on and off the field in the future,” says sports director Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen.
Eleven matches in Spain
The Trønder made eleven appearances for Real Valladolid after his transfer in late December 2025. Erlien made the leap to level two in Spanish football after his contract with Tromsø expired.
Now he is ready for a new chapter in the north – and to help Tromsø in the Eliteserien.
