SNL Film has unveiled the cast and creative team behind the new sports comedy “Olde Boys”. The film will be written and directed by Nick Wilkinson, who will also serve as a producer alongside Lisa G. Black.
The film follows the story of Mike Giordano – a small-town lawyer and amateur footballer whose over-50 teams are falling apart. Everything changes when he – in a desperate attempt to save the team – signs them up for the World Veterans Cup in England with the help of his teenage daughter and coach Frankie.

Tuc Watkins will star as Mike Giordano – the team’s attacking player and dream blacksmith. With him, Guy Nardulli plays the role of Nuco Tavakoli, the team’s exuberant playmaker who is always up for a challenge, and Jay Huguley as Rob Mason, the team’s brusque captain. Ray Fearon has also been confirmed in the role of Travis Richards, the team’s star player and MVP.
No other roles have been announced yet, but Cailey Fleming is rumored to be in talks to play Frankie Giordano – Mike’s daughter and the heart of the warm family story. Shanley Caswell and August Diehl are also reportedly in talks about roles. Filming will start in September 2025 in both the UK and the US, so it won’t be long before we hear more.
Think “Tag”, think “Ted Lasso”, think “Fisherman’s Friends” – “Olde Boys” becomes a classic, heartwarming and funny film about friendship, aging, love and challenges – all the ingredients for a perfect Friday night.
Screenwriter and director Nick Wilkinson said: “‘Olde Boys’ is a story I’ve lived and loved – about friendship, renewal and the beauty of football. This film celebrates the timeless feeling of still being young at heart, no matter what your knees tell you.”
“Olde Boys” is currently scheduled to premiere in 2026, at the same time as the World Cup is being played.
