Pål Alexander Kirkevold does not extend with HamKam

HamKam is in 13th place in the Eliteserien before tomorrow’s (Sunday) away meeting with lost Haugesund. – It is heading towards renewed Eliteserien contact next year, but it will be without “Mål Pål” who has not been involved for a very long time anyway.

34-year-old Pål Alexander Kirkevold has not lived up to his nickname for a while and will leave HamKam when his contract expires at the end of the year.

This is reported by the club, which has a lot to thank for on its channels. The striker has not played in the Eliteserien since May 16 and has not been part of the squad for the last five months.

Kirkevold says:
“Hamar and HamKam have been my home for two periods. I will always associate my time here with good experiences and fantastic, talented people who have helped me become a better football player.

The 34-year-old has been plagued by injury problems for a long time. He is one of HamKam’s most important players in the 2023 season, with six goals and five assists. These contributions were crucial for the club to retain its place in the Eliteserien.

Earlier in his career, Kirkevold was nicknamed “Mål-Pål”. He scored consistently for Sandefjord in 2014 and 2015, and continued to be a goalscoring prowess in Danish side Hobro.

In November 2017, Kirkevold made his debut for the Norwegian national team in the match against North Macedonia.
