United boss Ratcliffe and INEOS have controlled Manchester United’s transfer windows for the past two years. Last summer’s shopping round with Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko and Lammens has paid off, expectations for this summer’s signing round are sky high. Now it is reported that one of Europe’s sharpest wingers is wanted at Old Trafford.

We have become accustomed to the biggest clubs negotiating massive buyout clauses in contracts with their biggest talents or stars. AC Milan is not the exception. Now the player they themselves put a price tag on is 175 million euros for sale. This has created a lot of activity at Old Trafford.

AC Milan have been holding on to their greatest asset for many years. The Portuguese winger was brought in from Lille in 2019, for what ended up with up to €50 million in transfer fees. In 288 games, the 26-year-old stands with a solid 80 goals and 65 assists, now it is reported that the Serie A club has removed the “not for sale” sign. This has got Manchester United on the pitch.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport , United are showing increasing interest in the AC Milan star, who is being considered a great opportunity to bolster the left wing of the United attack. No formal negotiations have reportedly begun between the parties, but according to the Italian newspaper, the United management has explored the possibility of a swap. Three players are mentioned here: Marcus Rashford, Manuel Ugarte and Joshua Zirkzee.

However, Milan are said to be adamant that they prefer pure money to a swap. It is expected that the Serie A club will open up for bids from 50 million euros+, although the buyout clause is a whopping 175 million euros.
