On Friday morning, Lars Ranger landed in Bodø – and now anything can happen!
The 27-year-old right-back, who is considered by many to be one of the Eliteserien’s very best at his position, has headed north to complete the final formalities ahead of what could be one of the summer’s most talked-about transfers.

The background? Just a few days ago, it emerged that Bodø/Glimt have set themselves the goal of securing Lillestrøm’s profile on the right side. Now, Ranger himself has made the trip to Bodø to get everything in place – a transfer that can formally take effect as early as January 1 next year.
Since Ranger is out of contract with Lillestrøm after the season, he is completely free to negotiate with whoever he wants. This means that Glimt can in practice close the deal without having to negotiate with Lillestrøm about a transfer fee – at least not for the January variant.

On Thursday evening, after Lillestrøm had secured a place in the Europa League, the bombshell came: Ranger himself confirmed the interest from Bodø/Glimt.
” Of course it’s cool. It’s the best club in Norway,” Ranger said with a twinkle in his eye, before adding that we’ll see what happens next.
Now everything indicates that it is happening just that – and fast!
Because even though the formalities for a transfer in January are in place, Bodø/Glimt are working in high gear to get an immediate transfer already in this window. The club wants to strengthen the squad right away, not wait until the New Year.

The status on Friday afternoon, however, is that the parties have not yet been able to agree on a transfer fee for a transfer this summer.
This means that Ranger, according to the plan, will be back at Lillestrøm’s training ground as early as Saturday. And if no agreement is put in place very quickly, he could very well be relevant to play when Lillestrøm meets Fredrikstad in the Eliteserien on Sunday.
So the question everyone is asking themselves now: Will Glimt be able to speed up the process, or will they have to wait until January to get their man?
At the same time, there is information that Daniel Bassi (21) will be a Lillestrøm player in a transfer worth NOK 15 million.
