Italy has its wolf population of up to 3500, but according to Eling Haaland, the alpha male was at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Michael Carrick was angry with the referees and VAR, United legend Wayne Rooney is “filthy VAR”. Nevertheless, Erling Haaland stands as the match-winner at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby on Sunday with his 0-1 score. After the game, the Norwegian super striker was more concerned with paying tribute to the real match-winner at City.

Haaland slammed the 0-1 score into the roof of the net behind United goalkeeper Senne Lammens in the 60th minute, five minutes into injury time it was the goalkeeper on the other side of Old Trafford who played the main role.

Bruno Fernandes played Bryan Mbeumo masterfully free inside the box for Manchester City, more or less “done scoring”. Gianluigi Donnarumma strongly disagreed with this.

Donnarumma’s position out in the box, reactions and octopus arms, made Mbeumo just stressed enough to not be able to send the ball past the Italian giant.

Erling Haaland thanks his friend for the victory.

“What a save! What a goalkeeper he is. I’ve said it many times. This wolf in the goal – he looks a bit like a wolf – gives you so much confidence when you have him in the goal. At the end of the day, he’s a crazy man over there, and we’re so lucky to have him. He’s also the man of the match, so all praise to him,” Haaland said according to CityXtra.
