When Julian Ryerson was brought to Borussia Dortmund from Union Berlin after five seasons at the capital club, there were probably several Dortmund supporters who were a little stunned. Hamburger SV had the shock opening with two goals before halftime, now the away team was heading for a totally surprising victory against the Bundesliga runners-up, with just over twenty minutes left on the game clock. Then Ryerson and the gang narrowed down.
In a period of just over ten minutes, Dortmund narrowed the gap with three goals to win 3-2, two from the penalty spot. Ryerson hit the post when Serhou Guirassy equalized to make it 2-2 in the 78th minute.
