It has not been a good qualification for our neighboring countries, Denmark and Sweden, who both have to go out in the qualifying round Norway. (3 – 0 and 1 – 4)

Five new national teams qualified directly for the 2026 World Cup yesterday and happiest of them all Scotland who fixed the steak against Denmark.
The group stage of the European World Cup qualifiers has now ended.

Spain, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Scotland were the last nations to secure a direct place in the championship.

Spain had in practice already secured a World Cup ticket, and after the 2-2 draw against Turkey on Tuesday, it has finally been confirmed that “La Roja” will spend a summer in North America in 2026. (Only those without tattoos, of course.)
With this result, Spain won the group with six points ahead of Turkey, who are now ready for the playoffs.

At the Ernst Happel-Stadion in Vienna, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina battled it out for the group victory.
Austria had the advantage that a draw was enough to qualify, which they also achieved.
The match ended 1-1, which means that Austria under Ralf Rangnick will also get a trip across the Atlantic.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will instead have to go into the playoffs in the spring.

Belgium has also secured a place in the 2026 World Cup.
On Tuesday, they secured a big win at home against bottom team Liechtenstein with 7-0, and thus the “Red Devils” won their group.
Wales secured second place after a crushing 7-1 win over North Macedonia that was played at the same time.

Switzerland would have had to lose by a lot of goals to Kosovo to lose their World Cup spot, which did not happen.
Away on the pitch, Switzerland managed to achieve a 1-1 result, which means they will play in the World Cup next year.
Kosovo finished second in the group and will play in the playoffs in March.

There was more excitement at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Scotland had to beat Denmark to become group winners, which they managed in front of their home crowd.
The final score was 4-2, which means that Denmark will have to go into the playoffs – where they can face Sweden – for a chance at the 2026 World Cup.Scotland
, on the other hand, is guaranteed a championship summer in North America.
