Manchester United supporters demand Solskjaer back, but…

Manchester United have not won two Premier League games in a row since November. The supporters thought after the win against Chelsea and Brentford as the next opponent, that now damn!. It ended with a 3-1 loss at the Brentford Community Stadium. Now many Man Utd supporters are thoroughly tired of being humiliated on the ball island.

Ruben Amorim lost eight of twelve league games between December and February. Still no problem for United boss Ratcliffe. The Portuguese lost six of his last nine league games last season. Still no problem. Amorim lead to the club’s first-ever defeat to a fourth-division club, and then lost three of their six league games this season, including being humiliated by their city rivals. Still no problem for Ratcliffe and the United management. Isn’t it just to call up Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a super substitute to save the season, something that former Premier League star Jamie O’Hara’Shea is also urging?

Goal reports that there is growing demand among Man Utd supporters to bring back Solskjaer, the only manager after Ferguson to achieve a top-four finish in a row in the Premier League.

The English media believes Solskjaer’s football, which produced results in the world’s toughest league, will still be challenged at United in 2025/26:

“Players who would have been useful to the Norwegian’s counter-attacking play, such as the fast-paced Rashford and Garnacho, have now left the club, and there is a lack of natural wingers. So if United want to replace Amorim, they ideally want a manager who also plays 3-4-3.”

“There aren’t many out there, although it’s hard to ignore Oliver Glasner, who has worked wonders with Crystal Palace while using the same formation. The Austrian led Palace to an FA Cup victory last season and last weekend he led Palace to Liverpool’s first defeat of the season, making the Eagles the only unbeaten team left in the Premier League.”

So what should Manchester United focus on when Ruben Amorim is sacked? Ole Gunnar’s Solskjaer brings in so much more than a formation.

We remember how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over a bunch of United players in December 2018, who were terrified of losing. The United legend brought a calmness that immediately rubbed off on the players. They knew that Ole knew what it meant to run out onto the match ground in a Man Utd shirt without pissing your pants and focus on tasks, punch and victory, not avoiding personal mistakes and losses.

The result? 11 games after Solskjaer took over for Mourinho, Man Utd were undefeated and with an impressive 10 wins.

Wayne Rooney stated last week Manchester United need to get their “soul back”. Then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is definitely the right man for the job.
