Paramount has announced the arrival of LEGO Star Trek sets as part of its celebrations of the iconic series’ 60th anniversary.

Do you want the details? We don’t have many official details beyond the teaser below, which depicts an animated Picard minifigure being transported into, presumably, the Enterprise’s transport room.

Although the teaser has a distinctly video game-like appearance, all the wording in this announcement suggests that it is a good old ABS plastic chipset rather than something less tangible.

You can see the presentation here.

“Set the phasers to Build Mode,” is the message to LEGO fans, while Paramount promises that “more details will be revealed soon” and that this “first-ever collaboration” will “bring Star Trek’s iconic world to life in LEGO® brick form.”

No specific LEGO Star Trek sets have been confirmed yet, but earlier this year it was rumored to be a top pick for any sensible Trek fan’s wish list.

LEGO Icons set 10356 is reportedly a large recreation of the USS Enterprise D, as seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation TV series. This fits with the teaser.

Early leaked information suggests that it will measure around 60 cm in length and consist of about 3600 pieces. It’s expected to launch on November 28, and like any set of this size, it won’t be cheap. Early reports put the price at £369.99.
