Per-Mathias Høgmo only details away from new club he will lead a Europa League team
After the spectacular gold with BK Häcken in Allsvenskan and a stay in Japan as well as a trip to Molde in crisis, Per-Mathias Høgmo is now facing his next big coaching assignment. According to Swedish Aftonbladet, the experienced Norwegian coach is only formalities away from signing for the Bulgarian big club Ludogorets. (who are currently in 5th place in the top league).
The club, which is the reigning champion of Bulgaria and currently plays in the Europa League, is said to have found its new head coach in Høgmo. According to Fotbollskanalen, the deal is as good as in place, and Høgmo will bring Christofer Augustsson with him as assistant coach. Augustsson is leaving his position in Mjällby to join the project.
From Tromsø to Europe: Høgmo’s impressive career
If the transfer goes well, this will be the next chapter in a coaching career that has spanned more than three decades. Høgmo has made a name for himself both in Norway and internationally with his well-respected philosophy and ability to build winning teams.

- Silver with Djurgårdens IF (2018): Led the club to second place in Allsvenskan.
- Gold with BK Häcken (2024): Completed a unique “triple championship” by winning league gold after winning both cup gold and the Swedish Super Cup with the club.
With his ability to implement a structured and offensive style of play, Høgmo has proven his worth time and time again. The success with Häcken, where he took a team outside the traditional big clubs and won Allsvenskan, is considered one of his greatest achievements.
