Vinicius Jr delivered an explosive threat to Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid after he was substituted against Barcelona.

Vinicius had a challenging night at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, where Real Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1. But the incident that marked the match was not the result, but the Brazilian’s visible displeasure when he was replaced by Xabi Alonso in the 72nd minute.

Real secured a win over their arch-rivals Barca in Sunday’s El Clásico and extended their lead at the top of La Liga by five points. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring with a fantastic long-range shot, before Fermin Lopez equalised after a pass from Marcus Rashford.

Vinicius walked off the pitch in anger, argued with Alonso and then walked towards the tunnel without waiting for the game to finish. The coach avoided commenting on this at the subsequent press conference, but the club is already considering more decisive measures.

Jude Bellingham scored his team’s winning goal two minutes before half-time, when he knocked in a close-range finish.

In addition, there were several flashpoints, including two red cards, where substitute Andriy Lunin was sent off after an incident on the sidelines, while Pedri received his second yellow card deep into injury time in the second half.

Although Vinicius Jr didn’t get on the scoresheet, he made a lot of headlines after the outburst about his substitution, not forgetting the heated argument with Lamine Yamal after the final whistle.

Vinicius Jr reacted angrily after he was substituted against Barcelona.

In the 72nd minute, Alonso replaced Vinicius Jr, who reacted to the substitution by throwing his hands in the air.

According to DAZN, the Brazilian striker allegedly made a threat when he left the Bernabéu pitch. He exclaimed, “Me? Coach? Coach, me? It’s always me. I’m leaving the team. I’d better go.”

Alonso tried to reason with Vinicius Jr. and replied, “Come on, Vini, fuck.”

While staring at the ceiling of the Bernabéu, Vinicius Jr added: “Fuck it.”

Despite the 25-year-old’s outburst, the Real management understands his frustration at being taken off the pitch, as they believe it shows how much he cares about the team.

However, since he is the club’s third captain, they acknowledge that he should have reacted better to the switch.

After the game, Vinicius Jr said: “A message to all Madridistas, especially those who came to the Bernabéu and supported us passionately: That’s El Clásico, a lot of things happen on and off the pitch. We try to maintain balance, but it is not always possible.

“We don’t want to offend anyone, neither the young players nor the fans. We know that when we go on the pitch, we have to play our part, and that’s how it was today.”
