Hojlund goals do NOT overshadow what happens at the top at Manchester United

Rasmus Hojlund was weighed too lightly at Manchester United. There was a brief spell in which the Dane emerged as the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six league games in a row, but after two seasons with 14 goals in 62 Premier League games, United are instead betting on Benjamin Sesko. On loan at Napoli, Hojlund has immediately found his scoring form, but this does not overshadow what is going on in United’s No. 9 position.

When you are brought in to Liverpool or Manchester United as a first striker, then you have to deliver. At Liverpool, there are rumblings after Alexander Isak’s debut month for the club, although Arne Slot repeats the Swede has not had a proper pre-season. The hum does not lessen, when Benjamin Sesko comes in as a brand new in the world’s toughest league at arch-rival Man Utd, without a proper pre-season – and delivers.

On Saturday, Sesko was able to soar after the first goal in front of the United supporters at Old Trafford. The goal came against Sunderland, the second in the Premier League.

At Liverpool, Isak has scored his first goal in the red shirt, but not in the Premier League.

What makes Sesko’s goals so special is that the 22-year-old comes from a different league, a different intensity and pace, while Isak finished last season as the Premier League’s second-highest scorer (ahead of Haaland!).

Sesko says the transfer has been big from the Bundesliga, but that he already has more inside than what he has shown with 2 Premier League goals in 385 minutes.

– It’s much faster and you have far less time. That is one of the biggest changes. Everyone is very physical and athletic, but I’m getting more and more used to it. I’m going to reach that level soon,” Sesko begins in an interview with MUTV

“It’s my job to score as many goals as possible, try to win games and help the team in every situation… There is much more to come from me. I’m still adapting and working on getting to know the players. I can be much better and I want to try to show it,” says a United striker, brimming with confidence.

We look forward to the continuation!
