Sophie Turner has opened up about her new movie and admits that it was “really weird” to play lovers with her former “Game of Thrones” co-star.

The actress (29), known as Sansa Stark, will reunite with Kit Harington (38) – who played her on-screen “brother” Jon Snow – in gothic horror film “The Dreadful”, which is set in the 1400s.

The film follows Anne (Sophie), who lives on the fringes of society during the Wars of the Roses, when a mysterious man from her past appears in her life. In a new video interview with Vogue Magazine, she talked more about the project and how it felt to play opposite Harington in a romantic role:

“I have some really exciting projects going on,” she said. “I shot a movie last year that I’m really excited about.”

“[It’s] with my old but very good friend Kit Harington, who played my brother in ‘Game of Thrones.'”

“We’re starring in a gothic horror movie, but we’re playing lovers.”

“Sorry guys, it’s really weird for all of us.”

From siblings to lovers

“Game of Thrones” ran for eight seasons between 2011-2019, starring Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams.

In the series, Ned Stark (Sean Bean) was the head of the family of House Stark and the father of Sansa. For several seasons, fans believed that Jon Snow was Ned’s illegitimate son – making Sophie and Kit’s roles half-siblings.

Later, it is revealed that they were actually cousins, but the point stands – they played family members and now they play lovers.

But considering all the incest acts in “Game of Thrones”, this should be easy for the experienced actors.

Close friendship

Despite the initial “weird” feeling, it was actually Turner who recommended Harington for the role:

“They were looking for someone for that role, and I said, ‘You guys need Kit,'” she told The Times.

“The action is set in the Wars of the Roses, so we’ll probably be wearing capes on clifftops again.”

The film has not yet been given an official release date.
