From warmer to colder than normal

All of mainland Norway now has lower temperatures than normal for the time of year, according to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. Autumn seems to be approaching. – One thing is certain, even if it will get warmer again in a bit. It will not be above 25 degrees.

According to a message on social media, temperatures are below normal across the country. This applies especially to Central Norway, which on Wednesday had over four degrees lower temperature than normal for this time of year.

Molde had 4.6 degrees below normal, Trondheim 4.2 degrees below. In Bergen, the temperature was 2.2 degrees lower, while Stavanger was 1.5 degrees below normal.

Kristiansand was 1.9 degrees colder, Oslo 2.6 degrees below normal. Further north in the country, Tromsø had 3.1 degrees below normal, Kirkenes 2.7 and Bodø 2.3 degrees below normal.

Southern Norway can still look forward to a lot of sunshine in the coming days, but the summer temperatures seem to be over for now. It will be difficult to achieve above 20 degrees in the next few days, not least because the weather brings with it a cool north wind.

According to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute’s forecasts, there do not seem to be any high-pressure systems anytime soon.

  • Largest deviation in Central Norway (over 4°C below normal)
  • Still sunny in southern Norway, but cooler
  • No high pressure in sight in the next few days
