Sports director Simon Rolfes is pleased, which he says in his own media channels. “We are very happy”.

Now Leverkusen announces that Danish Kasper Hjulmand will take over as the new head coach with a contract that lasts until the summer of 2027.

“We are very happy to have signed a contract with Kasper Hjulmand, whose career we have followed closely for a long time”

Leverkusen said goodbye to head coach Xabi Alonso after last season. Several stars such as Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz have also left the club. Currently, the club is in twelfth place with one point after two rounds in the Bundesliga.

Hjulmand last led Denmark’s national team between 2020 and 2024. He has also coached Mainz, Lyngby and North Zealand.
